At a certain point during Fashion Week everything starts to blend together no matter what you do. It doesn't help that the new schedule jam packed about 25 shows into three days this time around either, but considering this was the maiden voyage, we'll let that go without too much bitching. But the show that stood out most to usˇXand not just because it was yesterdayˇXwas Capsule's dedicated installation presenting what they're calling a snapshot of modern menswear.

With six brands showing off five looks each, there was a lot to like with a wide variety between them. True to its aim, the presentation did a fantastic job showing off what we're currently working with within the industry: nothing overly tailored or formal, but a slew of slouchy coats, distressing and patterning. As you can clearly see for yourself, the six participating brands (CMMN SWDN, Matthew Miller, Second/Layer, Baartmans and Siegel, Blackfist, Maiden Noir and Camo) dropped the fucking top on this thing, proving once and for all the future of New York Fashion Week: Men's and menswear in general is brighter than any of us might have previously thought. You can see each brand's display and looks aboveˇXthe general consensus being Second/Layer took home that coveted number 1 spotˇXbefore taking a dedicated look at CMMN SWDN, also present, whose S/S 16 collection we wrote about previously.
